Outdoor cameras suit gate and porch coverage in a kothi or builder floor, the front and side approaches of an independent house, shop shutters and back lanes, society boundaries and parking, and factory or warehouse perimeters. Bullet cameras are usually our pick for a long, fixed view down a driveway or wall, domes for a wider porch or entrance angle, and a PTZ where one camera must pan across a large yard or rooftop. For longer night range we suggest infrared models, or full-colour night vision where a little ambient light is available.

A Make My Lappy outdoor install includes a site survey to fix camera positions and blind spots, concealed and conduit-protected cabling, a weatherproofed junction at each camera, and a DVR or NVR with a hard disk sized for the days of footage you want to keep. We configure mobile viewing on your phone, set night-vision and motion alerts, and brief you on the setup. If you already run indoor cameras, outdoor units can sit on the same recorder. Honest note: outdoor cameras cost a little more than indoor ones because of the sealing and surge protection, but skipping that is a false economy in our weather.
