Learn moreHow to choose the right CCTV camera
The best camera is the one that fits the spot you want to cover. Start outside: gates, boundary walls, parking and shopfronts are best served by long-range, weatherproof bullet cameras or rugged outdoor cameras with good night vision. Indoors — shop floors, receptions, clinics and offices — discreet dome cameras give a wide, tamper-resistant view.
Then think about cabling and detail. HD cameras over coax are the best-value choice for most homes and shops; IP cameras cost more but give sharper detail and smart alerts when you need to read faces or number plates. Where running cables is tricky, WiFi cameras keep installation tidy, and for sites with no power or internet — farms, plots, building sites — solar and 4G/SIM cameras run independently. Large yards and societies often add a PTZ camera that pans, tilts and zooms.
Most setups are a sensible mix
In practice we usually recommend a combination — bullet cameras for the exterior, dome cameras inside, and WiFi or 4G where wiring is hard — sized to the days of footage you want to keep. A free site survey settles it quickly: we map your blind spots, recommend the right cameras and quote it clearly, hardware and labour separately. Book a CCTV survey or buy cameras on their own.
